So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Have they not been created by aught, or are they the creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 Be patient, then, (O Prophet), until the judgement of your Lord comes. For surely you are before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
