(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
