Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
