Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
