Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
