Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
