Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
