۞ And when the son of Mary is cited as an example, behold, thy people turn away from it 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 For God, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship Him: that is a straight path." 64 But the factions among them differed. Then woe unto those who do wrong from the doom of a painful day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
