Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
