Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
