(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
