HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
