The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 has created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
