The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
