And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father.
