The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
