The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
