The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
