The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
