The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and spreading shade 30 near to flowing water 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
