The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
