The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
