The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
