The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
