Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 We have adorned the lowest sky with lamps, and made them missiles against the devils, for whom We have prepared a torment of most intense fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 As though it would burst with fury. Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its wardens will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage. 12 And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. 13 Shall not He who hath created know? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
