The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
