The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
