The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a host of the ancients 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and gushing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
