WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every one of them desire to enter the bountiful Paradise? 38 By no means! Surely We have created them of what they know. 39 But nay! I call to witness the Lord of the Easts and the Wests, that We have the power 40 to replace them with [people] better than they are; for there is nothing to prevent Us [from doing what We will]. 41 (Muhammad), leave them alone to dispute and play until they face the Day with which they have been threatened: 42 The day when they come forth from the graves in haste, as racing to a goal, 43 With eyes aghast, abasement stupefying them: Such is the Day which they are promised. 44
