The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
