The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 The Companions of the Right 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and spreading shade 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
