A company of the former peoples 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 Will be in the scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And the shade of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor honorable. 44 They had been affluent before, 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say, "Indeed, the earlier ones and the later ones 49 Are going to be assembled on the appointed time of a Day Known. 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 And drinking on top of it from scalding water 54 and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 Had We so wished, nothing could have hindered Us from replacing you by others like yourselves, or transforming you into beings you know nothing about. 61 And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? 62 And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? 70 Have you seen the fire which you kindle? 71 Have you raised its tree, or We have raised it? 72 We have made it to be a reminder and a benefit for the wayfarers. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
