A company of the former peoples 39 And a (goodly) number from those of later times. 40 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand? 41 In scorching wind and boiling hot water. 42 and under the shadow of black smoke, 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 Surely they had lived before in luxury, 45 And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Tell them, (O Prophet): “The earlier ones and the later ones 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 You will indeed eat from the Zaqqum tree. 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 Drinking the way thirsty camels drink. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 We created you, why will you not believe! 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 Did you create it, or are We the Creator? 59 We have incorporated death in your constitution, and We shall not be hindered 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing): 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. 73 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
