▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - 75 - which is indeed a great oath if only you knew it - 76 Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 which none but the pure [of heart] can touch: 79 It is a revelation sent down from the Lord of the worlds. 80 How can you regard this discourse with disdain? 81 and make it your daily bread [as it were] to call the truth a lie? 82 Then how is it that when the (dying) breath is withdrawn into the throat (and rattles), 83 and that hour you are watching 84 And We are nearer to him than you are, but you cannot see. 85 why, if you are not at Our disposal, 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 [ALL OF YOU are destined to die.] Now if one happens to be of those who are drawn close unto God, 88 There will be peace and plenty, and gardens of tranquility for him. 89 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, 90 Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 This is the absolute Truth and certainty. 95 So glorify the name of your Great Lord. 96
