▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the positions of the stars – 75 And verily that is a mighty oath, if ye but knew! 76 That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran). 77 preserved in a hidden Book which 78 Which none can touch except the purified. 79 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 How can you regard this discourse with disdain? 81 And to give (it) the lie you make your means of subsistence. 82 Why, then, when the soul leaps up to the throat, 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 We are closer to him than you, but you cannot see. 85 Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) 86 why can you not bring it (the soul) back (to life)? 87 Thus if he is of those brought nigh, 88 then happiness and delight and Gardens of Bliss are his. 89 and if he be a Companion of the Right: 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96
