The Column (Al-Suff)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts Allah, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 1 Believers! Why do you say one thing and do another. 2 Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not. 3 Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure. 4 Remember when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you cause me grief when you know that I am God's Messenger to you?" When they wavered, God let their hearts waver too. God does not guide transgressors. 5 And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: "O children of Israel, I am sent to you by God to confirm the Torah (sent) before me, and to give you good tidings of an apostle who will come after me, whose name is Ahmad (the praised one)." Yet when he has come to them with clear proofs, they say: "This is only magic." 6 Who doth greater wrong than one who invents falsehood against Allah, even as he is being invited to Islam? And Allah guides not those who do wrong. 7 They wish to put out Allah’s light with their mouths, whereas Allah will perfect His light even if the disbelievers get annoyed. 8 It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, so that He raises it above all religions, much as the unbelievers dislike it. 9
