Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Most Auspicious is He in Whose control is the entire kingship; and He is Able to do all things. 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And We adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and made them things to stone Satans; and We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blaze. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 For those who fear their Lord in secret is forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
