Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 for, suffering in hell awaits all who are [thus] bent on blaspheming against their Sustainer: and how vile a journey's end! 6 When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a loud moaning of it as it heaves, 7 It almost explodes in rage. Whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no one come to warn you?" 8 They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.'" 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 Shall He who has created (all things) not know? He is the Subtle, the Aware. 14
