Lo! for those who keep from evil are gardens of bliss with their Lord. 34 Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals? 35 What has happened to you? How do you judge? 36 Or have you a book wherein you read, 37 surely in it you shall have whatever you choose! 38 Or do you have Our solemn oaths, binding upon Us till the Day of Resurrection, that you shall have whatever you yourselves decide? 39 Ask them: "Which of you is able to vouch for this?" 40 Or have they associates if they are truthful. 41 On the day when there shall be a severe affliction, and they shall be called upon to make obeisance, but they shall not be able, 42 downcast will be their eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them - seeing that they had been called upon [in vain] to prostrate themselves [before Him] while they were yet sound [and alive]. 43 Then leave Me Alone with such as belie this Quran. We shall punish them gradually from directions they perceive not. 44 A (long) respite will I grant them: truly powerful is My Plan. 45 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they are burdened with debt? 46 Or that the Unseen is in their hands, so that they can write it down? 47 Wait patiently for your Lord's judgement; do not be like the man who, having been swallowed by a whale, called out in distress. 48 Had not a Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been (left in the stomach of the fish, but We forgave him), so he was cast off on the naked shore, while he was to be blamed. 49 His Lord therefore chose him and made him among those deserving His proximity. 50 But the unbelievers would like to stare you out of balance when they hear the warning, and say: "Surely he is possessed;" 51 Yet it is purely an admonition to mankind. 52
