Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In an elevated garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
