Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
