Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 "I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
