Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
