Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In high empyrean 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
