Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden on high, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and neither known this my account! 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
