Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said: "O my people, I warn you clearly 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 [And after a time, Noah] said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I have been calling unto my people night and day 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
