The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I do not (need to) swear by this town (Mecca) 1 And you are free (from sin, to punish the enemies of Islam on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah). 2 And by the giver of birth, and whom he fathered, 3 Assuredly We have created man in trouble. 4 Does he think that none has power over him! 5 He shall say: I have wasted much wealth. 6 What, does he think none has seen him? 7 Have We not made for him two eyes 8 And a tongue, and a pair of lips?- 9 and shown him the two paths? 10 So he did not quickly enter the steep valley. 11 What will explain to you what the ascent is? 12 The freeing of a slave, 13 And to feed in the day of hunger. 14 An orphan of near relationship 15 or some needy person in distress, 16 and to be one of those who believe and urge one another to steadfastness and compassion. 17 These are the people of the right hand. 18 As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left 19 The Fire will vault them over. 20
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
