Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 Yet [it has always happened] that certain kinds of humans would seek refuge with certain kinds of [such] invisible forces: but these only increased their confusion 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
