In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O thou enwrapped in thy robes, 1 Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. 2 (Worship Him) for more or less than half of the night 3 or add to it a little; and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 We shall soon entrust to you a message heavy (with solemnity). 5 Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise). 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and, leaving others, devote yourself solely to Him. 8 (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs. 9 And bear thou with patience whatsoever they say, and depart from them with a becoming departure. 10 And let Me alone with the beliers, owners of ease: and respite thou them a little. 11 Verily We shall have fetters with Us, and a roaring furnace, 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 On the day the earth and mountains will rock violently, and the mountains turn to a heap of poured-out sand. 14 We have indeed sent a Noble Messenger towards you, a present witness over you – the way We had sent a Noble Messenger towards Firaun. 15 Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him remorselessly. 16 How, then, if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, will you protect yourselves on that Day which shall turn the hair of children grey, 17 The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment. 18 Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever will, let him take a Path to His Lord! 19
