The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
